Preach or Ponder
Unless we invite people to faith in Christ we will become nothing more than amiable caretakers of dead churches.
Money can buy. . .
a bed, but not rest
food, but not satisfaction
luxury, but not contentment
stocks, but not security
a house, but not a home
a church, but not a mission.
But what money cannot buy, God offers as a free gift.
"Keep your lives free from the love of money, and be content with that you have; for God has said, 'I will never leave you or forsake you'" (Heb 13:5).
The financial purpose of the church is not to accumulate as much money as possible, but to give away as much money as possible.
Money is a value issue that touches the core of the personality.

A budget is:
A process to plan.
A plan to adopt.
A promotion to interpret.
A project to administer.
A provider for ministry.
The generation that said, "Don't trust anyone over 30," is now over 30.
Baby boomers are more interested in the journey than the destination.
Postmoderns are more interested in their experience as a community than in the journey or the destination.
